How we work and key parameters

Members work within vertical-specific committees to develop best practices, research, and expert insight specific to their industry, while engaging directly with the Texas Legislature and regulatory bodies to shape the policy that governs it. Membership is limited to no more than two dozen stakeholders per group to preserve a strong, focused community, and is a two-year term, inclusive of base Alliance membership.

Policy Focus Areas

Our Policy Boards address the issues shaping Texas’s AI landscape, from security and privacy to the risks of frontier models. Focus areas include Cybersecurity, Privacy, LLM and Frontier Model Risks, Private Sector, and Public Sector.

Board Leadership

Each Policy Board is led by senior executives from member companies, drawn from across the industry for their subject-matter expertise and standing. This ensures no single company’s interests dominate the board’s direction.

Distinction from Lobbying

The Texas AI Alliance is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization based in Texas. While our Policy Boards engage directly with the Texas legislature and may at times advocate on policy matters, our core role is to convene diverse, competing voices across industry and deliver balanced expertise, not to represent a single client’s agenda. This positions the Alliance as a trusted resource for policymakers rather than a traditional lobbyist.
