WHO WE ARE.

Learn about the mission, values, and community behind the Texas AI Alliance.

The Texas AI Alliance is a neutral convener at the intersection of AI governance, policy, and workforce development, built to help Texas lead in responsible AI development. We bring together senior industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders across the state to shape how AI is developed, deployed, and governed, both in Texas and beyond.

As a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization based in Texas with national and international reach, we operate independently of any single company’s interests. Our role is to convene diverse, often competing voices and translate that collective expertise into insight for policymakers, industry, and the workforce.

What we do.

The Texas AI Alliance vision is to make Texas a world-class state in advancing the understanding, capabilities, usage, and positive impact of AI by coordinating the collective AI design, development, engineering, application, and education expertise in Texas and by leveraging Texas’ culture of innovation, creativity, and collaboration.

Advance AI capabilities through research, development, and techniques for use by Texas’ AI ecosystem of companies, universities, and workforce
Accelerate AI use and impact by companies, organizations, and professionals in Texas and beyond

NATIONAL HUB

Represent Texas nationally and internationally, integrating regional assets to advance AI literacy, proficiency, and fluency across the state of Texas

INDUSTRY AND POLICY LEADERSHIP

Provide best practices, research, and coordination specific to your industry, paired with direct engagement with the Texas Legislature and regulatory bodies to shape the policy that governs it

WORKFORCE LEADERSHIP

Working with partners and local chapters, connect enterprise members to hiring platforms, skills certification, and training, supporting recruitment, retention, and retraining across the Texas workforce

According to our 2025 Austin survey, 54% support making Austin and “innovation hub” for emerging AI tech and 44%
support tax breaks for local tech companies who move workers to the Austin area.

In our 2025 Austin survey, respondents felt that government and business leaders in the Austin area should primarily help train people on how to use AI in their daily lives (39%), ensure responsible and ethical AI development (38%) and identify and support “best practices” in implementing AI (35%).

McKinsey’s State of AI research found that while nearly all organizations report investing in AI, fewer than 40% report meaningful bottom-line impact, largely because most apply AI to individual tasks instead of redesigning how work actually gets done.

In our 2025 Austin survey, 51% of respondents who are employed said that their company offers AI training, 44% said that they don’t.

McKinsey estimates AI-powered agents and robots could generate close to $2.9 trillion in annual U.S. economic value by 2030, but only if organizations redesign their workflows around human-AI collaboration rather than automating in isolation.

In our 2025 Austin survey, respondents said their main source of information about AI is social media, followed by news outlets and online learning platforms.

McKinsey’s 2026 AI Trust Maturity Survey found organizations with clear AI governance ownership significantly outperform those without it, yet only about a third of organizations have reached that level of maturity.
